MANILA, Philippines- Richard Gomez says he never thought of adopting a baby boy.
“Kahit before hindi ko talaga [gusto]. Kasi siyempre gusto ko sarili kong anak, e,” he said in an interview with reporters Friday at the set of his upcoming game show “Quiet Please! Bawal ang Maingay."
Now that his daughter Julianna is 13 years old, he and his wife, Congresswoman Lucy Torres-Gomez, have been planning to have another child, but this time a baby boy.
“Kami ni Lucy, nag-usap kami some two or three years ago, let’s try one more time. Hindi namin alam ano'ng gagawin naming steps. Siguro this month we’ll try,” he said.
For now, he’s happy to see her daughter getting into different sports and joins various competitions as he himself is a sports figure.
Many are wondering, however, if Julianna will soon enter show business as her parents did.
“Depende kasi kung gusto niya, e,” Richard replied. “Hindi ko puwede i-impose sa kanya na, ‘anak, mag-artista ka.’ Eventually it will come kung talagang gusto niya. Ngayon naman may mga endorsements naman siya. Nag-e-enjoy siya sa mga pictorial.”
Meanwhile, Richard is enjoying being a freelance artist, which makes him open to more opportunities.
Recently, it took roles in Star Cinema films like “She’s Dating a Gangster,” and another upcoming film with Gretchen Barretto, John Lloyd Cruz, and Jessy Mendiola.
Richard also guests different shows, but was lately offered to host a game show with TV5. He last hosted another game show, “Family Feud.” under GMA Network.
“‘Yong challenges namin, kailangan magawa mo siya the quietest way possible,” he said about the show. “Kasi may mga sensitive mics, e. Halimbawa ‘yong tissue na ‘to punitin mo nang tahimik, kasi mapi-pick up ng mic ‘yong tunog]. May decibel meter talaga.”
Richard will be hosting “Quiet Please! Bawal ang Maingay” together with K Brosas, and the show will start airing on August 10, 8 p.m. over TV5.
