Vhong mum on Deniece's slashed wrist after junked rape charge

MANILA, Philippines – Vhong Navarro refuses to comment on Deniece Cornejo's wrist slashing incident following the dismissal of the second rape charge she filed against the ABS-CBN TV host-comedian. 

 

“Siguro wala po akong magiging reaction doon, wala akong masasabi tungkol doon,” he said at the sidelines of the Yahoo! Celebrity Awards 2014 on Friday, July 18.

The Taguig City Prosecutor's Officce dismissed Cornejo's second rape complaint Vhong last July 11. 

 

Part of the resolution read: “"If indeed the complainant was raped on January 17 or 18, 2014; why did she allow herself to be raped again on January 22, 2014? There is no sign of struggle, no physical injuries. Complainant's narration of the actual act of rape is incredible."

 

“Ako kasi naniniwala ako sa justice natin. And at the same time, nananalig ako sa Panginoon. Lahat ay pinagdarasal ko na nga lang,” Vhong said over the dismissal of the second rape case filed by Cornejo against her.  “Syempre, masarap sa pakiramdam kasi alam mo na iyong bagay na iyon hindi mo nagawa.”

 

The “It's Showtime” co-host said he still has not completely moved on from his mauling incident earlier year. “Basta lahat ay pinapasa-Diyos ko lang lahat,” he said.

 

Vhong won the Male TV Host of the Year award at the Yahoo! Celebrity Awards 2014.

 

“Isang award ito na napakasarap tanggapin dahil sa gitna ng mga pinagdadaanan ko sa buhay, mahirap po  maghost pala,” he said of his latest recognition. “Siyempre, kapag nagho-host ka, humaharap ka sa tao, kailangan maging masaya ka. Mahirap na mag-pretend na masaya ka pero isa ito sa naging maganda na para sa akin dahil kahit papaano panandalian kong nalilimutan ko yung mga pinagdadaanan ko sa buhay.”
