Madrigals, Apl.de.Ap to perform for Obama at Palace
MANILA, Philippines — Some of the Philippines' best performing artists will showcase Philippine music and dance at Malacañang during the state dinner for US President Barack Obama.
According to the official programme for the dinner, the Philippine Madrigal Singers led by Mark Anthony Carpio will open the performances on Monday night with a rendition of "Kaisa-Isa Niyan" and the group's signature cover of "Da Coconut Nut."
Kuh Ledesma will render a solo of Let's Stay Together and will sing with an ensemble including Black Eyed Peas' Filipino-American rapper Apl. de. Ap, Bituin Escalante and Leo Valdez.
Apl.de.Ap. will also perform with the Bayanihan Philippine Dance Company and the Power Dance Company.
