Reunion of Midweek writers

MANILA, Philippines - Editors, writers, artists, photographers and staffers of the defunct The National Midweek Magazine, one of the respected magazine publications in the country in the late ’80s, held a reunion at the house of freelance writer Rogelio Constantino Medina.

Yes! Magazine executive editor Jose “Pete” Lacaba and former Philippine Graphic Magazine editor-in-chief Gregorio Brillantes, both former editors of Midweek Magazine, came to the reunion.

Also in attendance were noted artist-writer Danny Dalena, STAR columnist Wilson Lee Flores, writer Tezza Parel, Neng Torres-Yabut, Jose “Bogie” Tence Ruiz, Boy Bagwis and Audie dela Cruz, among others.

Presidential photographer Gil Nartea, former Associated Press photographer Pat Roque, STAR editor Juaniyo Arcellana, PDI columnist Benjamin Pimentel and the late Edith Galve are also products of Midweek Magazine.
