Kris invites James & Michela to Bimby’s party

FUNFARE - Rikcy Lo - The Philippine Star

First, a categorical denial: Contrary to persistent rumors (that peaked when she was linked to an actor-politician), Kris Aquino said that she has no political ambition…so far?

That’s one of the “secrets” Kris told me last week in Singapore where we interviewed the stars of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx, with director Marc Webb) and attended that city’s celebration of Earth Hour on Saturday night, March 29. The other “secrets” will have to remain locked in Pandora’s Box (hehehe!!!).

According to the rumors, Kris was eyeing the vice-presidential position in the 2016 elections. True or not? I asked Kris while we were waiting for the Earth Hour event to start.

“To address speculation about possible political plans and motivation,” said Kris, “categorically I have no political plans or aspirations for 2016 whether provincial, city or nationwide.”

With that, maybe we can now sit back and breathe easily.

It’s nice to know that Kris is on magnanimous mode and people close to her claim that it’s because she’s in love, but with whom neither Kris nor them will tell.

Early next week, Kris and ex-husband James Yap’s son Bimby will celebrate his seventh birthday at an exclusive party (actual birthday is April 19), with the ex-couple splitting the expenses 50/50.

Asked if it’s confirmed that James and his girlfriend Michela Cazzola are invited, Kris assured Funfare, “Yes, they are.” It will be the first time for them to be together.

That’s good.

Like everybody else, Kris and James are not getting any younger so it’s better to adopt the laissez-faire attitude — you know, live and let live; love and let love.

Isn’t the world happier when people live on love and not on hate?

Vi gets an award; son Ryan graduates

Congratulations to Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos who was conferred a Degree of Doctor of Humanities Honoris Causa by the Batangas State University for her clean-governance and humanitarian advocacy. The award was given to her during the university’s 46th  Commencement Exercises (with the theme “Global Mobility; BatStateU Quest Towards Excellence”) last April 2 in Batangas City.

Vi and husband, Sen. Ralph Recto, have another reason to celebrate. Their son Ryan Christian graduated from La Salle Zobel High School last March 30, a day after he turned 18 (how time flies, ‘no!). Ryan  will take up Business Administration in Ateneo.

Incidentally, the Rectos left Thursday night for L.A. for their annual family vacation. They’ll be back April 23, two days after the birthday (April 21) of their son Luis Manzano (who, as usual, opted to stay behind due to shooting commitments).
