Kim Jones on having kids: 'Not now'

MANILA, Philippines-Kim Jones says she’s “excited” about her upcoming wedding this May. 

Kim is in a relationship with Jericho Rosales for more than three years now, and the preparations for their wedding are nearly complete.

“Everything’s done, we’re just doing the finishing touches,” Kim said in an interview Tuesday afternoon, March 11 at the Neutrogena launch.

Just like what Jericho said in a separate interview, they will have a beach wedding which will be attended by their family and close friends both showbiz and non-showbiz.

Career First

They may be husband and wife soon, but that doesn’t mean that they plan to have kids immediately.

“Not now,” Kim replied when asked about having kids. “We’re both very ambitious, we both love working. Our career is very important to us.

“Echo and I still have our career goals and dreams. Eventually yes, we want a family. But we’re still young, we still have a lot to accomplish in our careers. There might be some small sacrifices.”

She also added that she wouldn’t meddle with Jericho’s career plans, and instead will be more supportive of whatever projects he would like to do.

“I don’t really need to be strict,” she said. “I appreciate what Echo does, I appreciate the roles he takes, I know he takes roles that have meaning to him, have substance to him.

“So you know, I don’t have problem with the roles he chooses. I fully support him and I know whatever he chooses his heart is in it.”

Time for each other

Though their wedding is a month away, Kim and Jericho are still both busy with their work commitments. Kim is busy with her left and right endorsements and blog kimcamjones.com; while Jericho is busy with local TV series “The Legal Wife,” and the Malaysian series “Chef.”

But despite their busy schedules, they still find to spend time together.

“It’s getting harder and harder because we’re both busy,” Kim said. “But we just exert effort to make time. We both genuinely want to, so it just happens.”

Those times apart are compensated by Jericho’s sweetness, Kim said.

“The things he does every day,” Kim replied with a sweet smile when asked what her beau does to make her feel special. “The fact that he makes time to call me, knowing we don’t have much time, [and] the effort he does to say that he loves me.”
