Drew cries at his and Iya’s sunset wedding

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Drew Arellano couldn’t stop crying at his and long-time girlfriend Iya Villania’s sunset wedding in Kawayan Cove in Batangas yesterday.

‘The affair was so beautiful and very emotional,’ a guest told Funfare, with a ‘stolen shot’ of the ceremony solemnized at a cliff. Upper photo shows the couple at a Star Magic Ball in September last year. ‘Pati guests naging emotional.’

Drew and Iya kept their wedding a secret. When Funfare reported the scoop late last year, Drew texted to ask where the information came from but refusing to either confirm or deny it. Only 50 guests were invited.

Drew and Iya have been going steady for more than eight years, living together at a condo unit somewhere in Mandaluyong City with other showbiz people as neighbors. They have been so close and so comfortable with each other that, observed somebody who knows them well, ‘kasal na lang ang kulang sa kanila.’

Next to march down the aisle are Karylle and Yael Yuzon (of Spongecola) on March 22, Jericho Rosales and Kim Jones on May 1 in Boracay, and Boots Anson-Roa and Francisco ‘King’ Rodrigo on June 14.

I think Drew got emotional during the wedding because he missed his father, my friend Atty. Aga Arellano, who succumbed to colon cancer middle of last year. Drew is a Daddy’s Boy. Like the wedding, Drew kept his father’s wake ‘very private.” Atty. Aga’s remains were cremated and, as per his wish, his ashes were spread around Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong where Atty. Aga spent a good part of his life.
