Casino Filipino’s line-up of shows

MANILA, Philippines - Casino Filipino (CF) welcomes 2014 with a flurry of unforgettable shows featuring some of the country’s finest comedians, bands and singers.

“Experience a one-of-a-kind New Year celebration and month-long festivities this month in Casino Filipino. We have lined up nothing but the best entertainment shows that will surely make the start of 2014 truly exciting. Admission to all these shows is free on a first-come, first-served basis,” said Bong Quintana, AVP for Entertainment of PAGCOR.

“We are making sure that we start the year right. Kaya lahat ng shows na inihanda namin ay talagang espesyal. We want to entertain not only Casino Filipino’s loyal patrons but also those who are looking for shows that are really worth watching… shows that will really entertain and make people laugh and have fun,” Quintana added.

The wacky tandem of Brod Pete and Long Mejia will also be featured on Jan. 15 for The CF Game Show at Casino Filipino Angeles.

According to Brod Pete, he has been holding special shows in Casino Filipino since 2008. “Salamat PAGCOR at Casino Filipino sa inyong walang sawang suporta sa mga local talents tulad ko. Ang advice ko naman sa aking fellow artists, love your craft. Sa nagdaang kalamidad sa ating bansa, kailangan ng ating mga kababayan ng kasiyahan, patawanin natin sila para makalimutan ang problema. To our fans, ALIEN! Raise the roof para di kayo abutin ng baha,” Brod Pete jokingly quipped.

Guests in CF Game Show are Katya Santos and Janelle Jamer. Katya will be entertaining guests and patrons in Bacolod on Jan. 17; Parañaque (Jan. 25); and Pavilion (Jan. 31). On the other hand, Janelle will perform at CF Cebu on Jan. 18 and Hyatt (Jan. 30).  

It will be a comeback of sorts for Katya  who shunned showbiz for a while after deciding to settle down. When asked how she is preparing for her forthcoming CF shows, Katya said her goal is to get fit and prepare something different. “I am preparing a whole new set of songs or repertoire and new gimmick for the audience. “I am excited to perform again,” Katya said.

Casino Filipino patrons can also jam with some of the country’s most popular bands. Moonstar 88 will be at Ronquillo Arcade on Jan. 18. True Faith will mount special shows in CF Hyatt on Jan. 16; Pavilion, Jan. 18; and Tagaytay, Jan. 24. On the other hand, 6Cyclemind will entertain CF Olongapo guests on Jan. 15. 

Casino Filipino’s month-long entertainment shows also include gigs by Luke Mejares (Mactan Satellite on Jan. 23); Denise Laurel (Lancaster Satellite in Mandaluyong, Jan. 10); Jimmy Bondoc (Madison Satellite in Mandaluyong, Jan. 17); and Aicelle Santos (365 Plaza Satellite in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Jan. 17).  

Meantime, PAGCOR’s homegrown talents K-Menn and Krazy Chikz with musical director Elmer Blancaflor are set for a nationwide tour starting this month. They will be performing live on Jan. 15 at CF Parañaque; Jan. 17, CF Tagaytay; Jan. 25, Ronquillo Satellite; Jan. 29, CF Hyatt; and Jan. 31, 365 Plaza Satellite in Laoag. 

Not Your Ordinary Boys and Girls with Krazy Chikz will also hold shows on Jan. 17 (Mimosa Satellite), Jan. 18 (Parañaque) and Jan. 23 (Pavilion).
