Jodi Sta. Maria: ‘I have never lost faith in love’

Chuck Smith - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Just like her character Maya from the ABS-CBN hit morning drama “Be Careful With My Heart,” Jodi Sta. Maria still believes in a fairy tale wedding.

However, when it comes to love, the 31-year-old actress is more realistic.

“I have never lost faith in love,” Jodi told reporters when asked if she still believes in marriage in a press conference recently. “But marriage is a different thing. I think, kailangan syempre, prepared ka, di ba?”

She added, “Siguro, mas realistic ako ngayon.”

Jodi was married to Pampi Lacson in 2005, but they separated in 2011. The actress is reportedly dating Jolo Revilla.

“Masarap naman isipin na mangyayari pa rin sa iyo yun (fairy tale wedding), di ba?” said the Kapamilya actress.

Challenge

Jodi and actor Richard Yap are busy preparing for the wedding episode of “Be Careful With My Heart.” Their characters, Maya and Ser Chief, are set to say I do’s the morning show’s Nov. 15 episode.

It’s a much-awaited moment for a soap opera that’s been on air for over one year — and it shows no signs of signing off the air.

This early, though, Jodi already acknowledges that stepping out of her character as Maya will be difficult once the show ends.

“Magiging challenge talaga yan lalo na’t ngayon na nagmarka yung mga characters namin sa tao. Yun yung challenge sa amin sa susunod naming gagawin — na hindi makita ng tao yung bahid ni Maya or bahid ni Ser Chief sa gagawin yun,” she said.
