Sitti’s concert, album launch

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Sitti (photo) will release Bossa Love, the follow-up to her 2011 album, with a concert on Nov. 28, 8 p.m. at the Music Museum.

Since releasing her debut album in 2006 called Café Bossa, Sitti has established herself as the country’s Queen of Bossa Nova, with hits like Tattooed on My Mind, Hey Look at the Sun and I Didn’t Know I Was Looking for Love, eventually achieving double-platinum status for the album. After starting a musical trend in the country and continuing to increase in popularity, MCA Music is throwing its full support behind Sitti in releasing Bossa Love with a concert.

Bossa Love will be a return to Sitti’s signature bossa sound after trying a bit of pop music in her previous albums. Tracks include late ’90s to late 2000s hits like Sunday Morning, a cover of the song by Maroon 5, It Wasn’t Me by Shaggy, Stickwithu by the Pussycat Dolls, Back To You by John Mayer, Smooth by Santana, Someday We’ll Know by New Radicals, My Favorite Mistake by Sheryl Crow, I Want It That Way by the Backstreet Boys, Yellow by Coldplay, Lost Without You by Robin Thicke, Don’t Know Why by Norah Jones, For You by Kenny Lattimore, Waterfalls by TLC and Thank You by Dido. Bossa Love is produced by Marvin Querido.

During her Nov. 28 concert, Sitti will perform songs off Bossa Love as well as her most popular songs and will be joined by Nyoy Volante and Jett Pangan as guests. The concert will also serve as a pre-birthday concert for Sitti, who will be celebrating her birthday the following day on Nov. 29.

(Tickets are available at P1,800 for orchestra and P1,000 for balcony at SM Tickets at 470-2222 or smtickets.com, Music Museum at 721-6726 or musicmuseum.com.ph, and Ticketworld at 891-9999 or ticketworld.com.ph. Orchestra tickets include a free CD of Bossa Love.)
