Libera’s early Christmas treat
MANILA, Philippines - Libera returns to the country to join this year’s Philippine-UK Friendship Week celebration with performances in Manila and Cebu. The chart-topping boys’ choir from London performs at the PICC Plenary Hall on Oct. 29, 8 p.m. and at the San Pedro Calungsod Chapel, SM Seaside Complex on Oct. 31, 8 p.m.
Libera has been captivating the hearts of the people all over the world, especially in Asia. Full-house concerts in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the Philippines only prove that Libera is Asia’s best-loved boys’ choir.
Libera came here in 2009 and 2011, impressing the Filipino audience with a moving performance of Bayan Ko. For the group’s third concert, expect nothing less than the grandeur of its previous shows. Libera will include the crowd favorite Bayan Ko, songs from its entrancing repertoire such as Orinoco Flow, Angel From On High, Sanctus and favorite Christmas songs such as Carol of the Bells, Silent Night, Joy To The World, In Dulci Jubilo and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas to herald in the festive season that Filipinos love so much. A percentage of the proceeds from the Manila concert will benefit Children’s Hour, the BAA Foundation for Disadvantaged Children and the victims of Typhoon Maring. Last year’s proceeds went to Children’s Hour and needless to say, nothing is more touching than seeing these boys from the UK extend a hand of friendship to the kids in the Philippines thereby setting the foundation for strong future ties with Great Britain.
