Nikki Gil: Confidence is beauty

MANILA, Philippines – Nikki Gil is glad to be an ambassador of a brand that promotes confidence among women, no matter what age.

The Kapamilya singer-actress is one of Olay’s newest brand ambassadors, joining Camille Co, Mikee Cojuangco- Jaworski and Mandy dela Rama.

“[The brand] represents confidence at whatever age you’re in, whatever circumstance you are going through,” she said with a broad smile in an interview Wednesday night, Oct. 16.

“I think that’s a very admirable quality to have so I’m glad that I’m part of what they represent,” she added.

Having said the phrase “whatever circumstance you are going through,” people would immediately recall her recent breakup with her four-year boyfriend Billy Crawford.

Yet just like everyone else who went through a breakup, Nikki moved on and is starting over especially now that she’s busy doing ABS-CBN’s primetime series “Maria Mercedes.”

Aside from the help from her family and friends, Nikki was able to get through all of these by being confident with herself, which she says every woman should have.

“For me, confidence is the best accessory that you can have,” she said. “I mean, everything else is superficial. But if you don’t fit in to the mould of what beautiful is, confidence will bring you there, e.”

She also added that every woman, young and old, should remember that true beauty is being “comfortable with your own skin, you don’t have to look like someone, you don’t have to be like someone, and you’re just happy to what has been given to you and take care of it.”
