Denise Laurel is engaged!

MANILA, Philippines- Actress Denise Laurel is engaged to her boyfriend Solomon Mercado.

The news first came out in an online blog Tuesday, October 1.

Denise confirmed the engagement through her Instagram account.

Denise first posted an Instagram video where Mercado was on his knees in front of her, while everyone cheered as the Kapamilya actress emotionally hugged and kissed him.

The caption said: “I'm still speechless but I got to say the most important word... Yes!.. My love @m3rcmywords I thought I was already so blessed having u as a good friend through the years..but God just keeps on blessing us doesn't he? Lil warrior and I love u with all of our hearts and I know mom dad n the whole gang do as well:) I am so excited for the downs as of course ups along the way so we can grow together more with God leading our partnership:) ur lil warrior n my best friend and now life partner :) I can go on and on but words can even describe how I feel.. I love u with all of me :) Thank you also to our friends and family for the past two days of craziness I had no idea! I really was surprised!! (Wish I dressed up tho n got my nails done atleast lol) but everything was perfect thanks to all of u! Hugs n kisses everyone.. This was followed by another video post where Denise is showing off her diamond-studded engagement ring.

In the video, she said: “Sorry I just had to show off @m3rcmywords exquisite taste.. I do not own any jewelry at all! And gave me the most beautiful ring ever! (I'm only gonna show it just this once haha pagbigyan)”

In another post, the Kapamilya actress posted a screenshot of a blog item where the news about her engagement came out.

In the caption, she clarified that Mercado is not the biological father of her son Alejandro, “no he's not the father of lil warrior biologically but he is the best father /daddy to lil warrior we are so blessed to have him n our family lol hope u got that hehe :)”

It could be recalled that in 2010, Denise left the ABS-CBN drama series “Kristine” without really explaining publicly why and which lead to speculations that she’s pregnant.

Until September 2011, Denise came back and admitted that she gave birth to her son with an Italian-American guy.

She also said in the caption that, “yes he's a basketball player I'm proud of that! but before what he does wat his passion is I am proud of the man that he is:) my best friend n an amazing person :)”

Mercado is a Filipino-American player in Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) for the Global Port Batang Pier team.

Denise is currently part of ABS-CBN’s drama series “Annaliza” where she stars with Patrick Garcia, Kaye Abad, Zanjoe Marudo and Andrea Brillantes.
