MANILA, Philippines - The tireless touring of Krissy & Ericka, managed by Cornerstone, was instrumental in the album’s success, though the material itself was of good quality in the first place.
The music video for 12:51 became a mainstay and No. 1 track on MYX music channel’s countdown for several months. It also topped the charts in several FM pop music stations in the metro.
The sibling act makes good use of social media, particularly YouTube, wherein they post clips of impromptu jam sessions and covers of popular hits. Their channel has so far reached 24 million views.
“12:51 was a fan-favorite,†said Ericka, “a lot of versions came out on YouTube and that also made an impact.†For Krissy, “We have to thank everybody for that, especially our fans.â€
One of Krissy & Ericka’s more recent uploads was a cover of the Taylor Swift hit Sparks Fly, in which they can be seen performing with Fil-Am YouTube sensation AJ Rafael. The clip was featured in American Idol host Ryan Seacrest’s official website.
After bagging Awit Awards’ Best New Artist trophy in 2010, Krissy & Ericka received several nominations for the upcoming 26th Awit Awards — Best Ballad, Best Performance by a Group Recording Artist and Song Of The Year.
