Gandang Ricky Reyes’ Father’s Day special

MANILA, Philippines - Every third Sunday of June is Father’s Day and on GMA News TV’s Gandang Ricky Reyes-Todo Na ‘Toh (GRR-TNT), a special tribute will be given to the man we dearly call Papa, Dad, Tatay, Itay or Tatang.

One of the features is the heartwarming story of a father who does not stop praying and hoping for the healing of his cancer-stricken child, whom he accompanies to the halfway shelter for children, The Childhaus.

In an interview with host Ricky Reyes, the man relates the countless times he prayed that his child’s pains be alleviated. “I wish God will take my life instead,” the father tearfully intimated.

Another father wrote to ask a favor from the beauty guru. “He does not want something for himself. As a Father’s Day gift, he wants a makeover on the salon of his gay son in Cabuyao, Laguna. I sent my staff to renovate and refurbish the salon with state-of-the-art equipment. You should see the joy of a selfless father who wants his son to succeed,” says Ricky.

GRR-TNT will also give tips on how kids can please their dad — where to take him, what food he might want, where to buy something new for him from clothes, shoes to techie stuff. The show will also feature celebrity fathers.
