GMA Network strengthens presence in the Middle East
MANILA, Philippines - GMA Network strengthens its broadcast services in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) as it relaunches its international channels via the Network’s new distribution partner, My-HD, for the said territories.
To back this new phase in GMA’s oversees operations in the MENA Region, the Network through its international business unit GMA International is engaging in massive promotional activities to further grow its subscriber base particularly in the Middle East, which is now home to over 2.4 million Filipinos.
As it kick-starts the relaunch, GMA International is distributing for free a total of 40,000 digi boxes, which already contain the complete line-up of My-HD including the My-GMA package to Filipinos all over the Middle East.
“Aside from the GMA international channels — GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV and GMA News TV International — the My-GMA package from My-HD also includes up to 28 English language channels, and 14 of these are already in high definition,†said GMA VP and head of International Operations Joseph Francia.
GMA also partnered with Cebu Pacific Air to give Filipinos in the Middle East a chance to visit their loved ones back home via the 100 Lucky Juans promo. The promo is open to GMA International subscribers aged 21 to 65 years old, who have not traveled back to the Philippine for a minimum of one year. Further mechanics may be found on the Cebu Pacific Facebook page at www.facebook.com/cebupacificair.
As an added treat to Kapuso viewers in the MENA Region, GMA is now offering its international channels at a more affordable fee — from $32 to $25 — and have made them more accessible and appealing by strengthening its programming and widening its reach.
GMA’s international channels GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV and GMA News TV International are now available via My-HD in the Middle East in Bahrain, Cyprus, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
