4 suits from the latest 'Iron Man 3' trailer that has us geeking

MANILA, Philippines - Already spreading fast across the web like a techno organic virus is the latest trailer for "Iron Man 3", easily one of this summer's most anticipated films.

Starring Robert Downey Jr., “Iron Man 3” arrives in Philippine theaters on April 24 and he'll be going up against the Mandarin played by Sir Ben Kingsley. The story follows Tony Stark (Downey Jr.) as he deals with the events seen in "The Avengers". Against the Mandarin, however, he finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands. He embarks on a quest to find those responsible and with his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices. 

The Iron Patriot was first seen worn by Norman Osborn in the comics during the Marvel "Dark Reign" storyline. Osborn wore it as he led his own team of "Dark Avengers" and the design is apparently a combination of Stark's and that of Captain America's. In the film, the design was applied to Col. James Rhodey's (Don Cheadle) War Machine armor.

When I first saw this scene, I thought that Stark was merely piggy-back riding on the armor as they both fly away to safety. But apparently, Stark doesn't drop on to the armor but into it. It's hard to figure out which armor this is but we've seen Stark slip into Iron Man suits in the past, not just like this.

See that armor in the lower right? That is apparently the "Deep Space" armor that Stark will use somehow in the film. If you've been reading the rumor mill online, you would know by now that this suit ties into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Finally, we have this hulking armor, which, some are starting to call as, you guessed it, the "Hulk Buster." In the comics, Stark used it to go toe-to-toe with the Hulk and apparently, it's very effective. With this in the film, can the angry green giant be far behind?

So there you have it. I'm sure there are some other surprise suits when the film comes out but these four should be enough to keep us excited until April 24.
