Palawan’s peacock lands in Sinulog

MANILA, Philippines - Outgoing Puerto Princesa Mayor and Palawan Express Pera Padala brand endorser, Edward Hagedorn (right), rode the crest of Sinulog festival last Sunday in Cebu City on top of a float that showcased his city’s Underground River and peacock symbol. A favored senatorial candidate, Hagedorn was greeted by a throng of fans, mostly young people, some of whom even climbed his float to claim their ‘posing rights’ with the mayor, like the unidentified girl in foreground. This year’s participation for Sinulog fest was the second in a row for Palawan Express Pera Padala, which vowed to be part of the cultural heritage of cities and communities where the money remittance service operates. There are 2,700 Palawan Pera Padala locations nationwide. In Metro Cebu alone, 110 Palawan outlets are in operation.
