Ben and Kate preem on 2nd Avenue

MANILA, Philippines - Meet 2nd Avenue’s newest brother-sister tandem. A story of opposites, Ben and Kate is a comedy series that shows us that a little “disaster” in life can be a good thing. Premiering on Sept. 28 at 8:05 p.m., Ben and Kate are siblings who despite their differences find a way to love and help each other.

Expecting her adventurous and carefree brother Ben (Nat Faxon) to crash on her couch for just a few days; Kate (Dakota Johnson), a young, uptight mom soon finds out that opening the front door to her brother is just the first of the many doors she’ll be opening in her life — be it for disaster or laughter.

Having strictly followed the rules all her life, until she got pregnant just before graduation, Kate put not just her 20s but also her life on hold to make ends meet and maximize her time with her daughter Maddie. Tough enough, Kate thinks she can handle any catastrophe thrown her way — all except for the arrival of her older brother back into her life. 

A “yes”-man and an exuberant dreamer, Ben attracts a lot of trouble but it seems like he likes it that way. With his infectious energy, he makes everyone want to follow his lead even if what he leads them into is catastrophe. He is the kind of guy that even though he has messed up your life, you can’t help but like him.

When Kate’s obsessive compulsiveness clashes with Ben’s spontaneity, chaos entails. But when Ben realizes that his sister’s stable life is a sad state of affairs, he starts throwing in some much-needed trouble into Kate’s life. Realizing for the first time, it’s her who needs help, Kate comes to see that her biggest mistake in life turned out to be her biggest joy. So with Ben looking after Maddie, Kate tries to make the best out of what’s left of her 20s. Maybe it’s not so bad that Ben moved in after all.
