MANILA, Philippines - Black Eyed Peas’ apl.de.ap (photo) will headline the opening of San Miguel Oktoberfest 2012, the country’s biggest and grandest beer festival, slated Sept. 28 at the Aseana City along Macapagal Blvd. in Parañaque City.

The Fil-Am hip-hop superstar, San Miguel Pale Pilsen’s newest endorser, is expected to bring the house down when he performs his and his band’s hits.

Also joining the festivities are apl’s fellow SMB brand ambassadors Michael V., Ely Buendia, Pepe Smith and Sam Pinto.

For this year’s Oktoberfest, San Miguel Beer will set up six customized beer brand tents that will feature diverse activities and an eclectic mix of performers for the enjoyment of all San Miguel Beer lovers.

At the “Beer Plaza,” where Filipino pulutan legends and the iconic San Miguel Pale Pilsen will be served. Manila’s clubbers will feel right at home in the San Mig Light Party All Night tent. It will be rock ‘n’ roll all night at the Red Horse Beer Pinoy Rock tent.     

Those who go for the fruity kick of San Miguel’s lemon and apple flavored beers can enjoy their interactive fix in the San Miguel Flavored Beer Digital Hub. The San Miguel Lifestyle Brews Bistro Lounge will make available meals best paired with Cerveza Negra, San Miguel Super Dry and San Miguel Premium All-Malt. The San Mig Strong Ice Cage, meanwhile, will be a haven for mixed martial arts fans and hip-hop enthusiasts.   

SMB president Roberto Huang said this year’s beer festival aims to “bring to the customer what they really want in a beer festival, without fuss, and with a variety of choices in one grand venue for celebration. We are excited to bring our six brand tents to the San Miguel Oktoberfest Beer Festival kick-off party in Manila.”

Oktoberfest revellers can enjoy a cup of their favorite San Miguel Beer brand for as low as P12. The lowest-priced San Miguel Beers will also be available during Oktoberfest grand celebrations on Sept. 29 at Paseo de Santa Rosa in Laguna, Oct. 5 at MEPZ II in Lapu-Lapu City (Cebu), Oct. 19 at Limketkai in Cagayan de Oro and Oct. 20 at Robinson’s Starmills in San Fernando, Pampanga.     

From Sept. 1 to Dec. 31, San Miguel will also give away collectible premium items such as limited edition mini-beer bottle USBs and tool kits in the form of all San Miguel Beer brands. Items can be redeemed in San Miguel Brewery Inc. sales offices nationwide, Baliwag Lechon Manok branches in Luzon and selected convenience stores in VisMin.
