Another couple splitting up?

FUNFARE - Ricky Lo - The Philippine Star

Just when they are looking forward to walking down the aisle next year, maybe with their kids as Flower Girls, comes the sad/bad whisper that this lovable, supposedly loving, showbiz couple is headed for splitsville. They got married in civil rites in 2010 just before she gave birth to their first child. (Clue: There are two “a’s” in her name and three “o’s” in his name.)

What is causing the rift between them? Doesn’t the actor-husband approve of the actress/dancer-wife’s decision to return to showbiz (as part of a fantasy-drama)? Or, as the wife is reportedly suspecting, is the actor back to playing the field? He and the very popular boyfriend of a very popular actress used to have “spare tires” (read: kept women, both members of a sexy dance group).

If and when they do part ways (and their friends hope that they will not), they will follow in the footsteps of uncouples Heart Evangelista (oops! she looks like the actress-wife referred to above) and Daniel Matsunaga, Derek Ramsay and Angelica Panganiban, and Shaina Magdayao and John Lloyd Cruz (not to mention a sexy dancer in a defunct noontime show romantically linked to a businessman with a prominent surname married to the celebrity-daughter of a respected celebrity).

Who do you think is the next couple to call it quits?

Look around and those claiming to love each other until eternity and who are guilty of excessive PDA (Public Display of Affection) could be “it.”

To commemorate the birthday of Mama Mary last Saturday, Sept. 8, Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos organized a four-hour Marian Regatta Fluvial Procession, from 6 a.m. to almost 10 a.m., around Taal Lake, with more than 40 colorful floats and 300 boats participating, each of them carrying an image of Virgin Mary.

“We had to move slowly because the waves were high,” said Gov. Vi who led the procession together with other provincial officials and mayors of the towns (and cities). “It’s our first time to hold this kind of event and we’re planning to make it an annual activity.”

Sidelight: Regal Matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde came late so she and companions (Girlie Rodis, etc.) had to ride a boat to catch up, but the boat stopped midway. Luckily, the Philippine Red Cross Team came to their rescue. Mother Lily sat beside Vilma at the lead float throughout the rest of the procession.
