2012 Miss Bohol Sandugo proclaimed

Manila, Philippines -  Idy Caseñas Cagas (center), 22, of Pundok Jagnaanon was named 2012 Miss Bohol Sandugo at grand finals last Friday, July 20. First runner-up was Mariecris Evardo (left) of Tubigon and second runner-up was Grace Sansen Mae Abong of Biasong. 

Cagas also won Best in Production Number, while Evardo was declared Best in Talent.

Launched in 1950s and known originally as Miss Bohol (1955-1988), the contest became Miss Bohol Fiesta Islands (1989) and then Miss Bohol Sandugo (1990-present). It has produced Emma Mumar (Miss Bohol 1988) who was a semi-finalist in the 1968 edition of Bb. Pilipinas, Irah Noemi Naron (Miss Bohol Sandugo 1995) who was a semi-finalist in the Mutya ng Pilipinas 1996, Cherry Mae Bacaro (Miss Bohol Sandugo 2003) who was Bb. Pilipinas 2003 semi-finalist and Anna Maris Igpit (Miss Bohol Sandugo 2005) who won Bb. Pilipinas-World 2006 and competed in the Miss World 2006 pageant in Warsaw, Poland (and was voted one of Top 5 Prettiest and Top 20 in the swimwear competition).
