Body Talk with Oyo Boy Sotto
Oyo Boy Sotto must have been still in his knee pants when Valiente was airing on GMA, which has been “modernized” in the TV5 remake. Oyo plays the role played in the original by Tirso Cruz III who now plays a new, older (naturally!) character. Also cast in the series is Michael de Mesa (from the original), Gina Alajar, JC de Vera, Nadine Samonte, Niña Jose and John Regala, with Lorna Tolentino as the newest addition to the cast as Tirso’s strict younger sister back from abroad, pitted with the villain Jaclyn Jose.
Now on extended run (until June 29), the series produced by TAPE, Inc., is directed by Joel Lamangan. Valiente is aired Monday through Friday right after Wil Time Bigtime.

Mama Kristine on Papa Oyo: He’s cool but disciplinarian
Unlike other showbiz couples who publicize their every move, Oyo Boy Sotto and Kristine Hermosa (with their children Kiel and Ondrea) are so protective of their privacy that when they got married more than two years ago, they shunned publicity (read: no media coverage, please!).
They insist that what’s private should remain private.
Thus, it took some pressure for them to let Funfare readers have even a little glimpse of their private life. As you must have noticed in this Body Talk, Oyo is very stingy with his answers, and so is Kristine in this side story.
How is Oyo as a husband?
“Oyo is a committed, loving and God-fearing husband.”
How is Oyo as a father?
“Very dedicated.”
What is your parenting style?
“Cool but disciplinarian. We are the same.”
What do you and Oyo have in common?
“We have the same faith and goal.”
How many more kids do you want to have?
“It depends on how many more children God wants us to have.”
