A-gantea opens first tea café

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A-gantea, Taiwan’s leading lifestyle tea café, successfully opened its first store at the Greenbelt 2 in Makati last May 12. The event, hosted by Grace Lee, was graced by A-gantea officials led by its chairman Vincent Ho, YouTube sensation JaMich, members of the Philippine Volcanoes Rugby Team Chris Everingham, John Odulio, Andrew Wolfe, Eric Tai and Harry Morris plus members of the Philippine Azkals — Angel Guirado, Chieffy Calindog and Ali Borromeo.

Participants of the games and contests were able to enjoy the yumminess of A-gantea’s beverages ranging from various fresh fruit flavors to special milk tea mixes like their Bubble Milk Tea with chewy white tapioca, Pear Fruit Tea with agar bits and the QQ Milk tea with coconut jelly. People who also watched the show were able to take pictures with the A-gantea mascots Tea-La and Tea-Bo.

In an interview with the press, Joy Gomez, brand manager of A-Gantea Philippines, said the new “lifestyle café” offers different types of drinks. Aside from milk tea, the place also serves fruit tea, yogurt drinks, herbal tea, coffee and smoothies. “We just had minimal changes in terms of sweetness. You know Filipinos, they love sweets,” she shares.

Ho also says that he is happy to bring A-gantea to the Philippines. “I am confident about the brand and looking forward to expanding the business in the Philippines.”

A-gantea will be soon opening more stores in Robinson’s Ermita, Ayala Triangle Makati and Harbor Point in Subic.
