MANILA, Philippines - Jessica Sanchez makes it to the American Idol Season 11 Top 3 after earning a standing ovation and praise for her rendition of Jennifer Holiday’s And I’m Telling You. The half-Filipino, half-Mexican singer amazed judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson during the Top 4 performance show last Thursday night as seen on etc.

Steven and Jennifer were both left speechless after her emotion-filled performance while Randy noted that the song she sang is one of the hardest to sing and that she “got up there and slayed it.” Earlier during the Top 4 performance show, Jessica also performed the Etta James classic Steal Away.

Jessica was the first singer to be declared safe by host Ryan Seacrest. This elevated Jessica to the Top 3 post. Also declared safe were singers Phillip Philips and Joshua Ledet, while frequent bottom two placer Hollie Cavanagh was sent home.

This weekend will be a treat for the contestants as they head home for their hero’s welcome. Jessica will head to Chula Vista in San Diego, California where she will take part in a procession, a rally of fans and will hold a mini-concert at her former school Eastlake High School.

Tomorrow, May 17, via satellite at 6 p.m. on etc, see Jessica, Philip and Joshua sing three songs each as they will perform a song chosen by their mentor, music producer Jimmy Iovine, a song chosen by one of the judges and their own choice song. Then on Friday, Adam Lambert and Lisa Marie Presley will perform their latest singles and the announcement of which two singers have made it into the finale to be aired on etc on May 23 and 24.
