“When the music’s over

Turn out the lights

For the music is your special friend

Dance on fire as it intends

Music is your only friend

Until the end — so goes the song by Jim Morrison titled When The Music is Over. Yes, but for the group that calls itself, the Bloomfields, music will never be over. One of the members, Reginaldo Pascual, is now listening to the music of Jim, one of the greatest music icons of the ’60s. Jim died young but his music lives on. That’s what the Bloomfields hopes to achieve, for music to live on and on. The group members sing the music of the ’60s, long before they were even born, but are rabid fans of the Beatles, The Beachboys, The Shadows, The Ventures, Dave Clark 5, Cliff Richard, etc. The Bloomfields takes seriously the songs of the ’60s, which have become a staple in Bloomfields performances. However, it has its own hits with Ale, a revival of the late Bodjie Dasig’s hit composition, and Express Hiway, an original song. The Bloomfields headlines a show at the Metrobar on March 28. Let’s get to know them better. Read on.
