Taylor Swift is Billboard's richest in 2011

Apparently, the British pop superstar who took home six Grammys on the back of a stellar 2011 couldn’t have it all as country singer Taylor Swift raked in the biggest earnings last year.
The 22-year-old Swift cashed in big time with $35million owing to sales of her album and sold-out concerts to edge out contemporaries Adele and Lady Gaga. Other artists who made it into the top 10 are U2, country music star Kenny Chesney, rapper Lil Wayne, Sade, Bon Jovi, Celine Dion, and Jason Aldean.
Over 1.8 million copies of Swift’s albums—2008’s “Fearless” and 2010’s “Speak Now”—were sold in 2011. At the same time, her songs were the best performing in terms of digital sales at 7.8 million. Swift’s “Speak Now” World Tour last year, which had a stop at the Smart Araneta Coliseum here in Manila, made her $29.8 million in profits.
At present, Swift has 29 million Facebook fans and 11million Twitter followers. Her song, “Safe and Sound” will be the promotional single for the upcoming 2012 film, “The Hunger Games”.
Billboard Magazine gathers the list of the highest earning artists each year based on Nielsen SoundScan data, Boxscore archives of U.S. concert gross numbers, and single sales in both physical and digital platforms, among others.
