Happy Yipee Yehey airing farewell episode on Feb. 4

Ricky Lo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -  BREAKING NEWS: These past few weeks, there have been reports (rumors, actually) that the early-afternoon ABS-CBN show Happy Yipee Yehey (HYY) was fading out after barely one year on the air.

The STAR’s roving Bohol Avenue VDPA (Very Deep Penetration Agent) sadly confirmed that, yes, HYY is indeed going off the air, with its farewell episode to be aired next Saturday, Feb. 4.

The short-lived show, pitted against the long-running unbeatable GMA show Eat, Bulaga!, is hosted by (photo, from left) Randy Santiago, John Estrada, Rico J. Puno with Pokwang, Toni Gonzaga, Bianca Manalo and John Prats. Until she moved to TV5 to co-host Wil Time Bigtime with Willie Revillame late last year, Mariel Rodriguez was also part of the show for a while.

What will happen to the HYY hosts?

The STAR learned that they would be given other projects (teleserye, sitcom, movies, hosting, etc.).

The soon-to-be defunct HYY will be replaced by a new show, yet untitled, that will be announced end of this month. There’s no word yet who the hosts will be.

For more details, tune in to TV Patrol tonight on ABS-CBN.
