Red Horse Muziklaban winners at Oktoberfest

MANILA, Philippines - Some of the biggest names in the Pinoy rock scene lent their infectious energy to the opening celebration of this year’s San Miguel Oktoberfest Beer Festival.

Intensifying the event were Red Horse Muziklaban Grand Champions: Mayonnaise (2004), Even (2008), Hatankaru (2009) and Light of Luna (2010) who all performed their famed rock numbers.

Pepe Smith got the Red Horse crowd on their feet with his iconic Juan de la Cruz band’s songs Beep Beep and Titser’s Enemy No. 1.

San Miguel Beer’s prominent personalities initiated the ceremonial toast to start off the month-long celebration, followed by the revelation of the 30-foot Beer Pyramid made up of over 1,200 San Miguel beer mugs.

The Red Horse Beer Pambansang Muziklaban Rock Challenge is now holding a series of eliminations nationwide. The new grand champion will be a step closer to rock stardom with over a million worth of prizes. A special prize of P50,000 also awaits the band with the best, original Red Horse jingle.
