Tacurong City's ambassadors of goodwill

MANILA, Philippines - Tacurong City, the ‘City of Goodwill’ recently crowned its ambassadors of goodwill in celebration of its 11th Cityhood Day and Talakudong Festival. The winners will help the city government promote Tacurong as a nature and eco-tourism center, being home to the Baras Bird Sanctuary which is the haven for some 20,000 birds of black-crowned herons and egrets. Located at the crossroad of the Soccsksargen region in southern Mindanao, Tacurong is an important commercial, transport and educational hub. The city is also an inter-faith community where Christians, Muslims, indigenous people and various ethno-linguistic groups co-exist peacefully.
