Westlife at Big Dome Sept. 29

MANILA, Philippines - Mark your calendars as Westlife returns to the Philippines for a concert on Sept. 29 at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Irish pop group is composed of Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily.

Since its debut in 1998, the boys have released 10 multi-platinum albums, had 14 No.1 hits in the UK and sold over 44 million albums worldwide. The group’s original songs include Swear It Again, If I Let You Go, Flying Without Wings, Fool Again, My Love, World of our Own, Queen of My Heart, Unbreakable and When You’re Looking Like That. Their cover songs Mandy, Uptown Girl and Against All Odds (Take A Look at Me Now) were also big hits in the Philippines.

Aside from its multi-platinum studio albums, Westlife also had special releases: A Rat Pack-inspired album titled Allow Us to Be Frank and The Love Album which consists of love song covers. Westlife is promoting its 11th album Gravity, released in November 2010. The boys worked on the album with Grammy-award winning producer John Shanks, who has produced tracks for a number of musicians such as Kelly Clarkson, Alanis Morrisette, Melissa Etheridge, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Backstreet Boys and Take That. Westlife performed Safe, the first single off the album in The X-Factor in the UK.

Westlife has toured around the world extensively, having 10 official tours since the year 2000, with stops around Europe, Asia, South Africa, the Middle East and Australia. Its Gravity tour went to Oman, United Arab Emirates, UK and Ireland.
