Benefit show for victims of violence

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Eight Tri Media Pro, Inc. and DZMM present Stop! In the Name of Laugh…Media Aid, a night of side-splitting laughter for a cause tomorrow, Aug. 26, 8 p.m. at Music Museum.

The show, which topbills Willie Nepomuceno (photo) not only showcases the master entertainer’s talent5 for satirical comedy but aims to benefit the families of media killings like the Maguindanao Massacre.

This is the first time that a show will donate all its proceeds to victims of media violence, which has reached such alarming proportions that the Philippines is now considered one of the most dangerous countries for journalists.

Kaye Dacer thought of the show’s concept because her own family is a victim of violence. Her uncle, Bubby Dacer, and his driver’s double murder case remains unsolved up to now.

Eight Tri Media Pro liked it and produced the show by spending for the cost of production, marketing and venue as part of its donation to fellow media friends. Top news anchors and media personalities like Julius Babao, Kaye Dacer, Karen Davila, Vic Lim, Amy Perez, Bernadette Sembrano and Anthony Taberna are special participants in the show.

All of them are setting aside network wars to help the families of our fallen media friends.

Tickets are at P2,500 (orchestra) and P1,500 each. For details, call 412-3030 or 0999-1881881.
