“I love the Philippines. People here have been very welcoming, genuine and sweet. I’m having a fantastic time. I can’t wait to come back,” she said in a presscon at the Manila Peninsula yesterday.
Paris, who flew in late Sunday evening, is in the country upon the invitation of Century Properties, which tapped her to conceptualize the design for the beach club of its newest property development, The Azure Urban Resort Residences that is situated in Parañaque.
And in typical Paris fashion, the Hollywood red carpet regular hammed it up before the cameras as she made her entrance to the venue yesterday.
“To best capture the attitude of a beach club, we chose Paris because she has been in real estate all her life and she has been to all the best beach clubs in the world,” explained Robbie Antonio, managing director of Century Properties.
Antonio is a personal friend of Paris and her family. Paris said, “I have also so many friends in the Philippines via Twitter. I always read their messages and their attention is very flattering. Their messages make me cry.”
Paris got into the project because “I love the beach. My favorite beaches are Malibu, Central Bay, Ibiza… I love the beach lifestyle. And I love designing so much. My design will be very Paris, sexy, fun and exciting.”
The past two days have been spent on brainstorming sessions plus a photo shoot with Raymund Isaac. On the day of the presscon, she met her “biggest fan” Isha Dinio, who got emotional after she exchanged gifts with her idol.
Paris said, “I feel very accomplished… I have 70 product lines, been doing movies, recording albums. I’ve done it all. But this is one project I’m proud of because real estate runs in my blood. My grandfather, who built the Hilton empire, called me up when he knew I was coming here to do this project, and said, ‘I’m so proud of you’.”
Queried on her other future plans, she said, “It will be about growing my business and my empire. I also want to have my own family and children. I will continue to help charities because I’m so blessed by God, and it’s important to give back.”
