Sitti turns 10 in showbiz

MANILA, Philippines - Sitti (photo) celebrates her 10 years in showbiz with a concert titled Ang Aking Awitin on Sept. 16, 8 p.m. at the Music Museum.

Sitti’s successful reintroduction of bossa nova in the country has led to the Filipinos’ interest in this kind of genre. She paved the way for the surge of bossa nova CDs and bossa-inspired OPM songs. In her 10 years in showbiz, Sitti has released best-selling albums such as Café Bossa, Sitti Live!, Sitti In The Mix, My Bossa Nova, Contagious and Sitti Sessions. 

Sitti’s musical influences include bossa nova artists Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Astrud Gilberto and Gal Costa. She never fails to amaze audiences with her cool performance that makes her one of the sought-after artists in corporate and wedding events, out-of-town gigs and shows abroad.
