Cartoon Network's Project Awesome

MANILA, Philippines - The adrenaline-pumping, E.V.O. smacking adventures of Generator Rex heat up this month as Cartoon Network sizzles with Project Awesome — featuring all-new episodes, a cool contest with a 3D TV as the grand prize, an action-packed school tour focused on Rex-cycling activities, and exciting online games.

Throughout August, kids can step into the punk busters of 15-year-old Rex and experience what it’s like to be a hero in more ways than one. Cartoon Network invites kids to go on adventures, solve mysteries and join Rex in an all-out mission to help save the environment with his very own version of Rex-cycling.

Here’s what’s in store with Project Awesome activities:

From Aug. 13 to Sept. 3, Saturdays at 12:30 p.m., kids can catch gripping new adventures of Rex as he combats more challenging villains. Go on the frontlines of intense action as Rex faces off with Zag R.S., the artificial intelligence who has set out to infiltrate Dr. Holiday’s space station. Threatening to interrupt a dangerous nanite experiment and take over the data stream, it’s up to Rex to save the day.

The Generator Rex cool factor is upped to the max as Cartoon Network rolls out the Project Awesome contest — giving kids a chance to own this season’s latest gadgets. To win, kids must tune-in to Cartoon Network from Aug. 8 to Sept. 4, answer questions within the four different Rex games in between the Generator Rex episodes, and submit their answers via SMS or through Cartoon Network website CartoonNetwork.com.ph.

The major prize winner will get a 3D TV, an Xbox Arcade 360 and an enormous collection of Cartoon Network DVDs and Generator Rex merchandise; while runner-up winners will get loads of Generator Rex goodies. With these super awesome prizes, who wouldn’t want to join in the fun?

The Generator Rex awesomeness does not stop as the adventure goes from TV screens to schools with the Project Awesome school tour. Ten schools in Metro Manila will be treated to an out-of-this-world experience, giving them the chance to feel what it’s like to be Rex through a series of exciting challenges and games.

Rex will also recruit kids to join in his mission of saving the world by eliminating waste with his very own version of the three “Rs” — Rex-duce, Rex-use, Rex-cycle. During the School Tour, kids will be given cool recycling ideas and will be challenged to make their own Generator Rex gear-ups using recycled materials.

Here’s the other awesome part — Rex is making his first appearance in Titanic Kungfubot Offensive (TKO), the fascinating arcade-like real-time multi-player game available on CartoonNetwork.com.ph.
