MANILA, Philippines - SM Cinema brings in new types of ergonomic chairs and recliners to offer a whole new look and feel to its movie theaters. They will replace the regular seats at the deluxe area of the cinemas, giving the patrons the illusion of watching movies in the comfort of their own homes, except this time — on a big screen and crisp Dolby Digital surround-sound system. Gone are the days that the special seats are coupled with high prices as we would like to add value to moviegoers who purchase their tickets ahead of time. Prices to these seats would not be any different to the regular ones. SM Cinema would also like to eliminate the consumers’ impression that watching the movies at the deluxe area is not comfortable. With the new seats, SM Cinema looks forward to refreshing the customers’ memory of the real definition of the word deluxe, that is, of luxury.
