MANILA, Philippines - A funny thing happened when Nate Jacob, NJ for short, first child of Niño Jefferson Lim and Krista Ranillo, was baptized last July 24 at the Blessed Kateri Church in Valencia, California, officiated by Bishop Oscar Solis.

‘When he poured water over Nate’s head,” Krista told Funfare during a brief phone chat, “Bishop Solis waited for Nate to cry. But you know what Nate did? He started laughing and the whole crowd laughed with him.”

Nate Jacob, named after Krista’s favorite Gossip Girl character, carries the same initials as those of his dad. He was born first week of last April, an Arian, also the birth month of his parents who are both Taurean.

The godparents were Kathy and Ivan Go, Nikki Obligacion, CJ Ruthie Tupaz, Nina Pagar, Richard Ang and Nazzer Lim. Others (who were not present) were Maite Defensor and Kevin Ranillo (Krista’s brother).

On hand to help the couple entertain guests were Krista’s parents, Mat Ranillo III and Lynda Tupaz, and Krista’s grandmom Gloria Sevilla.
