Soulful Suy

Manila, Philippines - Suy (photo), born in Cavite and raised in Davao City, began her journey with the music industry as one of the lead singers of the Manila-based Natural High in 2004, with a repertoire of soul, pop and R&B classics.

She has a soulful and relaxing voice that gives the delivery of her songs a distinct and signature sound, rarely found in other singers. She draws influence from the music of Stevie Wonder, India.Arie, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, just to name a few.

When Natural High disbanded, she began her solo career as a professional recording artist  doing compilation albums for different recording companies and singing back-up vocals for recording artists.

Suy is also the voice behind the best-selling compilation, Unplugged Series, as released by Ivory Music & Video.

The major turning point in her career came when she was signed to an exclusive recording contract under IVORY Music and Video, headed by Steven Tan.

Her debut acoustic album, Simply Suy was released in February 2010.

Last February, Suy released her second album Suy: Under Covers, a compilation of Top 40 Hits with a twist of acoustic. Just The Way You Are, originally recorded and made popular by Bruno Mars, is the album’s carrier single.

Other songs included in the album are Firework, Teenage Dream, Dynamite, Empire State of Mind Part 2, Mine, Need You Now, Speak Now, Ridin’ Solo, Cooler Than Me, Sweet Dreams, Smile, Pray, The Only Exception and Halo.
