Ver Paulino - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Now on its 100th year in the country, Nestlé Philippines, in cooperation with Cinema One, unveiled Kasambuhay, Habambuhay Short Film Anthology, featuring 10 short films highlighting the values embodied by each of its pillar brands all in 100 minutes.

Nestlé Philippines CEO and chairman John Miller and director of communications Sandra Puno graced the Gold Carpet premiere which was held recently at Rockwell Tent, Makati City.

“This relationship with the Filipino consumers, anchored on the quality of our brands and the role that these much loved brands have played in helping nurture and nourish Filipino families, is what led us to our centennial theme Kasambuhay, Habambuhay,” Miller said.

Each of the films features a Nestlé brand while showcasing creative Filipino filmmaking talent. The short films were viewed for free last weekend at selected SM Cinemas like SM Megamall, SM Southmall, SM Rosales, SM Cebu, SM Davao.

The 10 short films are: The Howl and The Fussyket, Unplugged, Silup, Isang Tasang Pangarap, Sali Salita, Oh! Pa Ra Sa Ta U Wa Yeah, Downtown, Tingala sa Baba, Cooking Mo, Cooking Ko and Sign Seeker.

Some of the country’s acclaimed actors such as Gloria Romero, Eddie Garcia, John Lloyd Cruz, Sid Lucero, Marvin Agustin and Eugene Domingo showcase their talents in the short films.

ABS-CBN head of entertainment production Cory Vidanes and Jake Cuenca

Kapamilya stars Jake Cuenca, Mariel Rodriguez, Toni Gonzaga, Melissa Ricks, Luis Manzano, Bianca Gonzales, Kaye Abad and Rich Hardin welcomed the distinguished guests.

Among the gold carpet guests were Cristalle Belo Henares, Valerie Bariou, Onemig Bondoc, Rima Ostwani, Anton Barretto, Tessa Alindogan, Jenny Yrasuegui, Reshma Chulani, Ana Lopez, Shamayne Skelly and ABS-CBN’s Philip Cu-Unjieng.

The Kasambuhay, Habambuhay Short Film Anthology is one of the many ways Nestlé is celebrating its centennial with the Filipino people.

Prior to the Kasambuhay film showing, Nestlé launched a 90-second centennial TV commercial that features one of the many Kasambuhay stories.

It has an evocative and heartwarming storyline, describing a relationship that begins in childhood, progressing through adolescence, courtship, marriage, starting a home and a family, facing ups and downs together, raising children into adulthood, having grandchildren, and enjoying the senior years. Throughout the entire story, which is accompanied by the popular OPM song titled Pag-big (Love) written and composed by APO Hiking Society member Danny Javier, Nestle and its brands are present as a constant companion.

Catch the short films in Cinema One in August.
