Musical prodigies at Pundaquit Fest

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The country’s up-and-coming classical artists take center stage tonight at 6 in the Soloists Night, the culminating concert of the 17th Pundaquit Festival at Casa San Miguel in San Antonio, Zambales.

The country’s longest-running community-based arts program, the annual festival was founded by international violinist Alfonso “Coke” Bolipata to develop musical and artistic talents in the grassroots.

Featured soloists are Yvonne Madarang performing Mozart’s violin concerto no. 4, Julian Duque in Sarasate’s Gypsy Airs, Miguel Estrada interpreting Mendelssohn’s violin concerto, Joven Aquisap in Telemann’s viola concerto and Nehm Lipana in Boccherini’s cello concerto.

They will be accompanied by the Pundaquit Virtuosi and pianist Jourdann Petalver.

Concert will be at the newly-renovated Ramon Corpus Hall of Casa San Miguel. Tickets are priced at P1,000 each, covering entrance to galleries, pre-show cocktails and post-concert dinner with the artists.

For details, call 681-8304 or 0915-5026802, or add them on Facebook/Casa San Miguel.
