UST Artlets Alumni Association honors Dolphy

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Dolphy (second from left) was recently conferred a special award by the UST Artlets Alumni Association (AAA) in cooperation with Burlington Industries Philippines, Inc. in recognition of his valuable contribution to Philippine cinema, radio and television.

He was conferred an alumni’s choice trophy for being the icon of Pinoy humor for the last five decades.

Though not an alumnus of the university, Rodolfo V. Quizon (Dolphy’s real name) was cited for starring in popular and award-winning radio and TV sitcoms and producing box-office hits and critically-acclaimed movies from the ’60s up to the present.

UST AAA president Teddy Pereña (second from right) together with alumni officers Avic Alcantara (leftmost) and Zyrel Paas-Moreno presented the award.

He was also given a creatively printed Burlington BioFresh T-shirt by AnaJet which chronicled his career in pictures.
