Mr. & Ms. Eco Tourism tilt

MANILA, Philippines - The first Mr. And Ms. Eco Tourism Philippines is a modeling and personality contest which aims to raise awareness on our country’s eco-tourism industry.

It is a beauty event where candidates and winners actively promote and get involved in the economy, culture and tourism aspect of various destinations and frontiers in the country.

Spearheading this worthy cause is new production outfit Galaxy Entertainment and Production Services, headed by Paul Zhuang, a Chinese singer turned producer. Zhuang says, “I think it’s about time to come up with more events which do not only entertain but educate the audience as well. I have a Chinese lineage but I’m a Filipino citizen and I love our country so much.”

“My contribution starts with the younger set, through holding a personality and modeling search with a cause, because they will definitely be playing a big role in shaping the future. I believe beauty pageant title holders would be good and effective advocates of worthy causes,” Zhuang adds.

To help fulfill this vision, Galaxy Production will work with government agencies and the private sector.

Male and female candidates should be 18 to 25 years old, single, without a child, at least 5’5” tall for female and 5’7” tall for male, a high school graduate, with a beautiful face, proportional body structure and a pleasing personality. Above all, he or she must know the culture, economic and tourism situation of the Philippines.

Cash prizes and prize packages from sponsors await winners. Screening will be held on March 26 at Icon in Makati City, March 27 at Bellevue Hotel in Alabang; April 2 at Dolce Superclub in Quezon City; and April 3 at H20 Hotel in Manila. Applicants must bring portfolio, set card, photos and swimwear during the screening.
