Eminem rules 2011 Grammy nominations
Bieber made it. Justin Bieber, the hottest teenage star of the moment can now attach Grammy nominee to his name. He got two nods from the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards. He is up for Best New Artist along with fellow Canadian Drake and the hot British newcomers of the moment, Florence & The Machine, Mumford & Sons and Esperanza Spalding. Then his album My World 2.0 made it to the Pop Vocal Album category against I Dreamed A Dream by Susan Boyle; The Fame Monster by Lady Gaga; Battle Studies by John Mayer; and Teenage Dream by Katy Perry. Given who the other nominees are, I am sure that it will not be easy sailing for Bieber. But one can never tell with these award-giving bodies.
Already a sure winner because of his 10 nominations is Eminem for his comeback album Recovery. Slim Shady has really recovered from whatever ailed his career two years ago, and in a really big way. His Recovery, which I must say is his best so far, is up for Album of the Year. He also has a really strong contender with Love The Way You Lie featuring Rihanna in the Song of the Year race. Eminem follows in the footsteps of Beyoncé, last year’s topnotcher, who went home with six trophies out of 10 nominations. I have a feeling Eminem will get more.
The sensational Bruno Mars got seven nominations while honored with six nods were Jay-Z, Lady Antebellum and Lady Gaga.
