MANILA, Philippines - Is Kim Chiu hurting?

That instantly came to mind when Kim chose not to elaborate when asked about telling the real cause of her and perennial screen partner Gerald Anderson’s sudden “separation.”  

Though Kim and Gerald neither confirm nor deny the real score between them, many believe the two had a special bond before Bea Alonzo reportedly came into the picture.

“Ano na lang po respeto n’yo na lang po sa ‘min ni Gerald. Ibalato n’yo na lang po sa amin kung ano man yun. Hayaan na po natin yun wala na po ‘yun,” says Kim who seems a bit uncomfortable answering questions regarding Gerald. “Basta, we are both happy. Gerald and I are okay now and we get to talk to each other.”

Kim, who will be the next featured artist on ABS-CBN’s Your Song, also insists that Gerald has nothing to do with her plan of spending a four-day vacation in another Asian country to celebrate Christmas. She said it is a good chance to fulfill her dream: To see snow during Christmastime.

“Usually, I have a filmfest movie and since I’m not starring in any movie this December, I will take this opportunity to spend Christmas abroad,” Kim explains. “Anyone could take a break alone, para maiba naman.”

She also declines to say anything about the rumored break-up of Gerald and Bea. “I don’t know. I don’t have anything to do with them and I don’t see them both. Less talk, less mistake so let’s just leave it at that.” But Kim affirms, “Hindi kami magkagalit (ni Bea). Bakit naman kami magkakagalit?”

What matters now is that Kim is happy with how things are going on in her career. Product endorsements, new shows and more friends make her smile from ear to ear these days. Another reason to be happy is that she and Gerald remain good friends. “We’ve been doing projects together for four years. This is the chance to grow and to work with other stars. I don’t want any negative (talk) to crop up.”

Instead Kim seems intent on acting onscreen away from the other half of the Kimerald loveteam. The 13-episode of Your Song Presents Kim which will premiere on Dec. 12 will prove Kim can pit acting talents with other Kapamilya actors more than ever. Her last TV project was Tayong Dalawa.

Televiewers will see her act not just in another love story but in various genres like comedy, fantasy, drama and romance comedy that will serve as a breath of fresh air for the young actress.

“I will play boyish, fashionista, grumpy lady in some of the episodes. They also asked me to make a list of actors I wish to work with,” Kim tells.

Some of the Kapamilya included in the list are Sam Milby, Enchong Dee, Ejay Falcon, Rayver Cruz, Maja Salvador, Empress Schuck and Erich Gonzales.

Is Kim willing to work with either Gerald or Bea in one of Your Song episodes?

“Yes, why not? Bea and I are okay. With Gerald naman I hope mabigyan pa din kahit isang episode kasi andyan pa din ang mga Kimerald.”

If schedule permits, Kim is most willing to work with Jacky Chan. The martial arts superstar has chosen Kim from the many pictures of Kapamilya stars presented to him. The project is on hold because of their conflicting schedules.

“I hope it will push through. Sayang ‘yun,” Kim says.
