Sen. Bong to Hayden: Magpakalalaki ka!

Sen. Bong Revilla is in a fighting mood. It’s understandable. In his guest appearance in Paparazzi last Sunday, Dr. Hayden Kho called Bong “narrow-minded” and “makitid ang utak” in his belated “hit-back” at the senator who denounced Hayden in the Senate at the height of the video scandal that resulted in the cancellation of Hayden’s license.

Could it be the scent of his eponymous perfume that is recharging the controversial doctor to be so visible and audible, once again hogging the headlines as if he’s the victim, in complete disregard for the feelings of the women in his prize collection, including Katrina Halili (who continues to wage a lonely battle in court) and Maricar Reyes (who, bless her, opted to keep quiet and presumably suffer in silence)? Is it the Paris-originated scent that has emboldened Hayden to reclaim centerstage and let loose such provocative mouthfuls?

Is Sen. Bong talking the “narrow-minded/makitid ang utak” accusation sitting down? No, he’s not. He’s giving Hayden a dose of his own (bitter?) medicine in the following statement, quoted verbatim:

It’s not my problem anymore if there’s still bitterness in his heart. Siya ang gumawa ng masama sa kapwa niya, at sa babae pa, kaya he deserves what happened to him.

Magpakalalaki siya at harapin niya ang mga kaso niya, na siya naman ang may kagagawan in the first place. He should not pinpoint and blame other people…hindi siya dapat nagpapasa ng sisi sa ibang tao sa pagkakatanggal ng lisensya niya and the continuing hearing of the criminal case filed against him.

When I called for an investigation into the sex video scandal, I did not do it to advance my political or showbiz career. I did it for the sake and protection of women, especially the aggrieved ones. In fact, I gained nothing from it. Nagkaroon lang ako ng kaaway at si Hayden nga ‘yon.

Isa siyang tituladong tao. And since he’s educated, I expect some decency in him. He disappoints me, including the people around him.

Sino ang taong nasa tamang pag-iisip ang kayang gumawa at abusuhin ang mga kababaihan katulad ng ginawa niya? Makitid talaga ang isip ko, pagdating sa tama o mali. 

Hayden is, of course, not the only celebrity in that situation. A Hong Kong pop star in a similar video-taping/video-distribution case has reportedly fled to Canada (I’m not sure if he has returned to face charges) while an Indonesian rock star is being tried for distributing home-made sex videos involving two female celebrities while he has been languishing behind bars since he surrendered last June and he could serve a 12-year term if convicted.

In contrast, Hayden has been blithely promoting his perfume which is well and good, except that he’s being careless in making offensive statements.

Proof that Hayden has “moved on?”

At the recent NU Rock Awards, he turned to the female emcee and, while taking off his jacket, told her in jest, “Gawa tayo ng video.”

If Hayden can joke about it, does it mean that he’s over it?

As the song goes, the times they are achangin’.

Is PWNW fading out Saturday?

There’s a rumor going around that ABS-CBN’s Pilipinas Win Na Win (PWNW), the show that replaced Wowowee and hosted by the Hitmakers (Rico J. Puno, Nonoy Zuñiga, Marco Sison and Rey Valera), is bowing out tomorrow, Nov. 27, and to be taken over by a youth-oriented show?

True or not?

“Not true,” said Bong Osorio, head of the network’s Corporate Communications.

“There’s no truth to the rumors and media reports. It might have been confused with the launching of Shoutout, a youth-oriented show which starts on Monday, Nov. 29, at 5:15 p.m. before the soaps.”

So, it’s tuloy ang ligaya for PWNW.

Shoutout is hosted by Erich Gonzales, Empress Schuck, Enrique Gil, Sam Concepcion, Robi Domingo, Arron Villaflor and Enchong Dee.

The format must have been inspired by German “Kuya Germs” Moreno’s long-defunct That’s Entertainment show on GMA where the likes of Lea Salonga, Rachel Alejandro, Manilyn Reynes and many of today’s popular stars have had their baptism of TV-hosting. Like That’s, Shoutout will feature a different set of hosts every weekday, with all of them present on Friday.

In That’s, the teen hosts were divided into the Monday Group, Tuesday Group, so on and so forth.

In Shoutout, they are called:

= Monderrifics (for Monday) — Ryan Bang, Jenny Kim, Julia Montes, Ann Li, Tippy Dos Santos, Martin del Rosario, Aria Clemente, Makisig Morales and Rhap Salazar.

= Tuesdelicious (Tuesday) — James Reid, Devon Seron, 3AM (James Torres, Mica Caldito and Kyle Amor), Imelda Schweighart, Emmanuel Vera, Inno Martin and Piero Vergara.

= Miyerkulitz (Wednesday) — Bret Jackson, Fretzie Bercede, Miles Ocampo, Jane Oineza, Mikylla Ramirez, Kathryn Bernardo, John Manalo, Paul Silos and Sue Dodd.

= Friends-Thurs (Thursday) — Ivan Dorschner, Trisha Santos, Nel Gomez, Young JV, Jaco Benin, Benjamin de Guzman, Anna Bianca Casado, Yen Santos and Linn Oeymo.

On Friday, the four batches are all accounted for to hang out and perform with special guests.
