Nescafé Soundskool now open
MANILA, Philippines - Nescafé 3in1 Soundskool 2010 ushers in a new breed of Pinoy artists.
The competition is open to unsigned college bands. Interested bands should have three to five members aged 16 to 26, majority of which should be enrolled in college and must have a written endorsement from the school’s authorized personnel. One of the requirements is a demo CD with one original and one cover OPM song for a maximum running time of three minutes per song. You may submit entries via the Mobile Recording Studio that made its rounds in select universities in Metro Manila during the Summer Buzz; drop boxes located in select establishments within Metro Manila, partner student organizations of select colleges or universities nationwide; and registered mail. Out of the initial entries collected from all over the country, 30 bands will move on to the eliminations. They will engage in a musical showdown.
Five promising bands will be the grand finalists of Nescafé 3in1 Soundskool 2010. The bands will enjoy one week of musical training and fun activities in Boracay. They will find themselves in the presence of some of the country’s top music icons and industry executives as the competition brings all the mentors to Boracay. Participants will have one-on-one mentoring sessions with their mentors like Sugarfree, Spongecola, Callalily, Imago, Rivermaya and representatives from Sony Music Entertainment Philippines, Inc.
Grand finals will be held in Boracay and broadcast via live web streaming at the official Nescafé 3in1 Soundskool website. Each band will perform a cover OPM song and will share the stage with their mentors as they both perform the participant’s original composition. The grand winner will get P500,000 cash and a record deal with Sony Music Entertainment Philippines, Inc. Musical equipment and facilities worth P100,000 will be awarded to the school the band represents.
