Trilogy at UE Theater

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - University of the East (UE) in collaboration with the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) and the Filipino Heritage Festival (FHF) presents three internationally-acclaimed performing artists: UE Chorale, UE Silanganan Dance Troupe and UST Symphony Orchestra in a grand concert in three parts called Trilogy on Sept. 29, 6 p.m. at UE Theater. It is the culminating event of UE’s 64th Foundation Anniversary celebration.

Kicking off the event is Fire, featuring German composer Carl Orff’s cantata Carmina Burana, to be performed by UE Chorale, interpreted through dance with a modern twist by the UE Silanganan Dance Troupe and accompanied by the UST Symphony Orchestra.

A solo performance of the UST Symphony Orchestra featuring its “three-piece symphony” with Herminigildo Ranera as principal conductor follows. Trilogy ends with the US Silangan Dance Troup performing an excerpt from Enchanted Journey, highlighted with chants by UE Chorale accompanied by the UST Symphony Orchestra. Director-scriptwriter Floy Quintos conceptualized Enchanted Journey with music by Jesse Lucas and choreography by UE Office of Cultural Affairs director Generoso Caringal.

UE’s 64th Foundation Anniversary celebration is chaired by UE Marketing Department executive director Jesus Tanchanco Sr. and co-chaired by UE Caloocan Chancellor Fedeserio Camarao.

Tanchanco announced that the concert is open to current and former members of the UE family and UE alumni.
