Wish they were real

Joy Jonette Chuyaco - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - There are times when movies are shot in locations entirely made out from the imagination of its makers. With enough funds, the right studio, creativity, resourcefulness and technology, imagination can come to life in the movie screen. Usually, science fiction and fantasy films are the ones that use imaginary locations. Even though this is the case, many viewers still end up amazed with the wonderful and exciting places they’ve just seen — at times even wishing they were real. Here are fictional film locations that many viewers wish were real:

Night at the Museum. Imagine, artifacts moving and some even talking, wouldn’t that experience be nice? That’s learning history first hand. After this movie was shown, viewers couldn’t help but imagine how cool it will be to have a museum with live artifacts. Just don’t mess with them, or else history might take its revenge.

Harry Potter Movies. Harry Potter movies left viewers hoping for a wizardry school to come true. How they wish they could learn to do magic and embark on adventures just like Harry and his friends; but, until then, watching these films would be a great way to experience enchantment.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Chocolate falls, Chocolate river, unique sweet treats, tiny workers ( The Oompa Loompas) and many other amazing stuff, Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory is truly an attraction worth visiting—if only there is such a place. When visiting, remember not to be naughty like those four kids who learned their lessons the hard way.

Shrek. The world where Shrek lives is a dream come true for people who like fairy tales. Imagine Pinocchio, Gingerbread Man, Puss and Boots, The Three Little Pigs and many others coming alive like regular beings. So it is no doubt that many people would like to come to Shrek’s world and experience life like a fairy tale—happily ever after.

Flintstone Films. Wouldn’t it be nice if people could easily step a couple of eras back and experience that life? Anybody who has seen Flintstone movies knows exactly how nice and interesting the town of bedrock can be—making the Stone Age people’s favorite period.

Peter Pan. Where do Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and the Lost Boys live? In Never Land (a.k.a Never Never Land); it’s a place where its habitants, although not all, stay young. Isn’t that place tempting? A visit there will definitely be like having a dose of the fountain of youth.

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Truly there are a lot of fascinating locations in every Star Wars movie; one place that will surely be included in the list would be the Cloud City, a floating city surrounded by fluffy giant clouds. If Cloud City is real, Star Wars fans will definitely be partying there.

Jurassic Park. While it is true that this park may seem dangerous, viewers of this film still think it’s exciting to have a park with real dinosaurs roaming around (with electrical fence, of course). Just a step inside the park would be like a trip back in time where Dinosaurs are the habitants of the earth. As long as no electrical problem occurs, a real Jurassic Park will surely be a hit.

Hotel For Dogs. A safe and cozy place for their dogs to stay, this is what most dog owners are searching for when they need to leave their dogs behind for a trip. This movie truly showed a skillfully created dog hotel, that is why viewers are now looking forward for such a hotel to be real.

Space Jam. Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Taz, Pork pig and many other wacky and funny characters—where can you find them? In the world of Looney Tunes; wouldn’t it be great if people can just cross a dimension and be with them for a while? Watch this movie and find out how the Looney Tunes jam.

The Stepford Wives. Most women might not like the idea of having this Stepford Town, but many men would surely wish for such a town or even at least dream of it. Who wouldn’t? In Stepford Town, housewives are amazingly perfect, may it be physically, mentally, emotionally…why is this so?

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The Nautilus, a special and huge submarine, is not like any other submarine. It has special features that will make a marvelous under the sea voyage. Just hope and pray that the captain won’t be as weird and aloof as Capt. Nemo.
