GMA 7 launches coffee-table book
MANILA, Philippines - In celebration of its 60th anniversary, GMA Network launched a coffee-table book titled Kapuso: The GMA Story which traces the generations of individuals behind the history of the company from its founding to the present.
President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III and Vice President Jejomar Binay were the guests of honor at the book launch last July 30, at the Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
The 199-page book, written by celebrated editor and accomplished writer Krip Yuson, features the triumvirate of Felipe Gozon, Gilberto Duavit, Menardo Jimenez and top executives and personalities like Annette Gozon-Abrogar, Mike Enriquez, Mel Tiangco, Marissa Flores, Wilma Galvante, Antonio Seva, Orly Mercado, German Moreno, Tina Monzon-Palma and Freddie Garcia who shared their key insights and memorable experiences with the institution in the last six decades.
Kapuso: The GMA Story highlighted the role of the broadcast company in the Philippines’ history and its achievements that continue to be a lasting legacy of hardwork, dedication and innovation inside each and every household’s television.
The book is a testament to GMA 7’s success from its humble beginnings on June 14, 1950 to what it is today. It gives the reader a glance into the richness of possibilities that the network seeks in order to touch the hearts and enrich the lives of Filipinos everywhere.
Also present in the event were Speaker of the House of Representatives Feliciano “Sonny” Belmonte Jr., former president Fidel Ramos, Senators Franklin Drilon, Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Vicente “Tito” Sotto III and former senate president Jovito Salonga.
Advertising executives, foreign dignitaries from the diplomatic corps, government officials, members of the media and Kapuso celebrities also graced the cocktail event.
The 60th anniversary book launch was hosted by Mike Enriquez.
