Nikki Gil on front page of US paper

MANILA, Philippines - Nikki Gil was recently featured on the front page of the Wall Street’s Weekend Journal for a story about ‘Exporting Broadway.’ Nikki’s photo was taken from the musical Legally Blonde, now being staged in the Philippines, in which she plays one of the leads. In her story, Ellen Gamerman wrote that ‘more and more producers are now discovering that they can reap huge profits overseas, sometimes even turning a Broadway flop into a foreign hit. Broadway ‘exports’ are popular not only in the Philippines but also in other parts of Asia, South America and South Africa.’ One Broadway hit now being staged in the Philippines (at the CCP until Aug. 22) is Cats, with our very own Lea Salonga as lead star.
